Trees

Above, two from the Miniquilt auction at the quilt show last spring.

The Sewhatevers minigroup has made a Christmas quilt to donate for the Festival of Trees that benefits the Shelter. The auction is in November.
Have any other groups made quilts to donate to this event at Liberty Hall in Lawrence?
The major focus is decorated trees but Christmas-themed quilts sell well too.

Deb's Quilts

Barkley's Birds 2005

Here's a short retrospective of Deb Rowden's quilts:

Ocean Waves

She's always loved small pieces and she often looks to vintage quilts for inspiration.

Postage Stamp

In the past few years she's been doing less planning and more impulse piecing.

The yellow nine-patches with the blue centers are vintage blocks from about 1950.
She pieced the setting strips.

She collects impulsive quilts and potholders with faces on them.
Here's a combination of both influences.
She donated this to the Lawrence Humane Society auction last month.
