July 14-15: Victoria Findlay Wolfe

Victoria Findlay Wolfe will entertain us with lectures and a workshop  in July. Her subject 15 Minutes of Play: Pushing the Limits of Creativity. Her take on creativity is the topic of her book and her blog. She'll do a lecture and trunk show on Monday night and Tuesday morning.

See her BumbleBeans blog here:

And her 15 Minutes of Play blog here:

The workshop is full but the description gives you an idea of how much fun her lectures will be.

"Improvisationally explore new ways to use your SCRAPS, 15 minutes at a time! Learn techniques in playing in your scraps to make your own beautiful designed quilts. Sharpen your design skills, learn about combining colors and prints in new ways, push it further by using templates then watch your own unique quilt design
emerge. Discover just how distinctive classic quilt blocks can be, when they are constructed with more spunk and spontaneity! Build confidence in color, quilting techniques, and design all through PLAY!"

Victoria has an exhibit this summer in Cedarburg, Wisconsin through October 24th at the Wisconsin Museum of Quilts & Fiber Arts. She's showing twelve variations on the Double Wedding Ring in Traditions Made Modern: Full Circle Sketches from Life.

  1. I love Victoria! She came to Wichita also this summer. My name is Valerie Bothell and I have recently written a book for C & T publishing titled, Quilting...Just a Little Bit Crazy. One of Victoria's quilt's is featured in my book! I was trying to contact your guild about the possibility of doing a workshop/lecture for your guild but I was having trouble with your contact me form on your website. I live in Wichita so I don't live to far! If you would be interested you may contact me a pinkbunny@valeriebothell.com

    Thanks so much,

    Valerie Bothell
